1st Day

Claira & Ryley (friend from church)
Can't wait!

Today was Claira's first day of Kindergarten! We all have been very excited about this for months! Claira especially. She missed the Kindergarten cut-off date last year by 2 measly days so she was REALLY super ready! We woke up verrrry early (If you know me at all...this is a big deal ha ha) Time for me to start going to bed before midnight I'm thinking;) We all got ready and headed out the door 30 minutes early...which is a good thing because we got stuck in the morning rush hour traffic & it took us 20 minutes to get there. I'll be trying the city streets tomorrow instead of the freeway & see if it's any quicker. So we finally arrive and when we get there I started panicking on the inside, I didn't expect to feel so freaked out! We said goodbye and I watched her walk down the long corridor until the door closed. I remember thinking "that's it? I just leave her here? what if she can't find her class? What if she doesn't like the food? What if she can't find the bathroom?" I stood there for a few moments and awkwardly turned to leave. I'm thankful I had my friend Amber with me (Ryley's mommy) & Ben or else I think I would have broken down right then. I think an hour or two later it sunk in & I realized that it was quiet (yes, even with a 2 yr old:). I went upstairs half expecting to hear her singing...she's always singing and I missed hearing her beautiful voice. I just lost it, it was a mixture of sadness, happiness, & love. I love my girl and I missed her so bad right then. To see her empty room and untouched toys. I know every mom goes through this, and I'll learn to even enjoy this (ha ha) but you just don't know until you go through it yourself!

I expected Dylan to ask about her a lot and wonder where she was but he didn't really mention her until around 1:30. He came downstairs fully dressed in Claira's Cinderella costume...heels and all...and says "I want Claira to be Cinderella with me and be my friend. I love Claira, she's my friend" and then he got a sad face and it melted our hearts! We quickly told him Claira was going to get out of school soon and we were going to pick her up & he instantly cheered up:) What a sweet brother, I just love how loving he is! We picked Claira up from school...after an eternity... (8:15am-3pm is sooooo long!!!) and she was all smiles! She had the best day of her life! She didn't get lost, or starve, or die, or anything! I told her I missed her soooo much and she said "Don't worry Mommy, I had lots of fun!" that totally made me feel better, I'm sooo glad that she's having fun and LOVES it... I knew she would. I asked her if she missed us or if she was too busy having fun, and of course she said she was too busy having fun:) Awesome:) Here's to Kindergarten!

Emma only goes for a few short hours everyday, and I stuggle with that! I would propbably be a mess with all day kindergarten. Time goes too fast when you have little ones.

How sweet! I think I'm going to cry when Cambrie goes to school. It's nice that Ryley and Claira are in the same school. At least they'll know someone!
